Carpinteria Creek Bank Stabilization Beginning Soon
The Carpinteria Creek Bank Stabilization project addresses a 300 foot area of eroding stream bank. The project involves biotechnical bank stabilization for the protection of steep vertical banks using root wad structures and willow trenching. The project will decrease the amount of unnatural sediment flowing into the creek as well as improve the habitat quality along this portion of the creek and downstream. Here are a few pictures of the Carpinteria Creek Bank Stabilization site prior to the project‘s start.
